At Edwards Land Surveys, we’re focused on providing quality services, and we continually strive to be a great company. Today we offer LIDAR and Photogrammetric services employing the latest in LIDAR Sensor Technology.


Our History

Edwards Land Surveys (ELS) was incorporated in Alberta, October of 2012 and began full operation January 1, 2013, offering conventional and GNSS solutions for your survey needs. Our corporate office is located in Gregoire Lake Estates, Fort McMurray Alberta.


President LeMont W. Edwards A.L.S., P.Eng has 30 years of experience, ranging from military rapid mapping, gravity surveys, subdivision and other legal surveys, topographic surveys, Crown Land surveys, etc. Within our team we possess the knowledge and technical expertise to handle any type of survey required from construction to engineering.


Safety

ELS has an impeccable safety record with 0 lost time and 0 medical incidents, and we’re COR certified . ELS typically employs 5 to 10 people and is equipped to safely go to 10 crews without jeopardizing quality and efficiency with the current management staffing and equipment availability. We continuously seek to develop technologies and products that will have a greater impact on workers' safety.


Our Services

Our area of operation ranges from Calgary to Fort McMurray and surrounding areas. We have been engaged by various clients and by all levels of provincial government. Our projects include contracts from:

  • Provincial government: Parcel Surveys, subdivisions, and crown land dispositions
  • Municipal government: Subdivisions, rights of way, and road plan surveys
  • Private industry: Residential surveys, bridge surveys, large scale construction, rights of way, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, etc.

Technically, we possess the ability to perform not only traditional surveys but also small-scale aerial surveys and LIDAR acquisition. Our technical equipment includes the Velodyne HL32 LIDAR/IMU, the first of its kind in Canada.
